ABOUT
D.A. HOLMES
D.A Holmes is a horror writer from Dublin, Ireland.
He is the creator of the Hook Cove Gazette, a faux newspaper about the fictional town of Hook Cove.
After getting his start in horror comedy, he stepped into the world of novels. He is the author of several novels, beginning with Coming Out of the Coffin which would later expand into a trilogy.
His writings tend to combine the mundane and relatable with the horribly fantastical. From vampires with social anxiety, to the toxicities of modern relationships while working inside an occult store.
He currently resides in Dublin, inside a log cabin in an undisclosed location and chained to his MacBook. (Do not worry, we let him out once a month for ten minutes of sunshine)

I guess either a love of lying or a love for telling stories. Is there a difference? Coming up with characters and scenarios always felt natural to me, especially when joking around. I think that’s where the natural humour in my writing comes from.

Potentially, yes? The story of Vlad is finished for now, but that’s not to say I am finished with him or the world of the Coffin trilogy. I have some ideas and thoughts about where that universe goes and what happens with the characters. If I ever get an idea for it that’s too good to ignore then I will return. But for now there is no immediate plans.

Honestly, to write for Batman. A movie, comic, or even a TV show. So just putting that out there into the universe. DC hit me up.

This one actually started out as a joke between me and my friend Jamie. I can’t remember how we got onto this topic but I suggested the idea of, what if Dracula had a Grindr account? And from there we went into all the obvious “I want to suck” jokes. But the idea never really left me, and continued to morph. I tried writing a script for it as a movie, then attempted to turn it into a graphic novel. Until eventually the story found its right spot in the form of a novel.

I’d keep this a closely guarded secret if I could but my cover artist wouldn’t forgive me for it. Lasse Wennerstrand is the man I go to for all my cover needs. He listens to my ramblings and manages to transform them into works of art to place at the front of my books.
